stevensimpson98: Nice Body-Building Diet Plan For Aspiring ...

You know... dating back to the era of the Roman rule (Rome's ancient era), when the things they did for entertainment and recreation was wrestling. If you reminisce rightly, you'll remember the way wrestlers (whom they called Gladiators) will file out against one another and either 'fight to the death' or 'fight to yield'. I know a philosopher that defined those behaviors as barbarically animalistic and you know; you just can't help but to agree with him. However, if you can't beat them, be a part of them; this was the hypothesis that helped me choose to write on body-building diet plans for young aspiring wrestlers. You can't pin the blame on them, they just like to get accepted into the fold; and I realise that and I believe if I can write this article on any column, yours shouldn't be different, now let's shoot.

A healthy diet is among the key elements of body-building. A proper diet plan is vital to get all the nutrients needed for body-building and should have the proper amount of proteins, carbohydrates, fat and fiber. The common calorie consumption should be around 2,000 to 2,500 per day. About 30 % of total calories must originate from protein, 55 percent from carbohydrates and the remaining 15 from healthy fats. Few other sports activities are as weight-driven as wrestling and though lots of wrestlers check out a diet extremes to help make weight, I believe making weight through continuous dietary modifications plus a very reliable body-building eating plan are the best.

Protein

Protein is responsible for muscle-building, which is suitable for getting ahead of the competition. Some protein sources, however, can be high in cholesterol as well as unwanted calories. Pick lean sources of protein, like turkey or chicken. Consider soy protein, such as tofu and veggie burgers. While these foods might not sound athletic, soy protein generally contains as much protein as meat-based sources, but with a fraction of the calories and fat. When watching unwanted weight very carefully, soy protein might be a good option.

Steer clear of protein sources like fried chicken or beef. Choosing those fish sticks may seem similar to a good option depending on the protein count, but they can be draining on the mat since your body tries to process the additional cholesterol and transition fats.

Sugar

Refined sugar may have carbs, which your body needs for a energy supply, but refined sugar does more damage than good. Ingesting refined sugar is really a surefire way to put on weight, mainly because it provides no nutrients and only adds calories. Processed sugar is really a larger culprit of extra weight than fat.

Avoid all types of empty calorie foods such as chips, white rice, fries and white bread. Select brown rice and whole-wheat bread as other options, since these foods provide fiber as well as other nutrients. Fiber helps sugar burn more slowly and helps elimination.

Water

Workouts cause your body to go through fluids as you sweat and use water to burn energy. Though many wrestlers fear water weight, dehydration is really a reason for water weight. Drinking water is a good way to lose weight as it assists digestion and elimination of extra waste, which often helps you make weight. The book also explains that athletes particularly have to carry water bottles since dehydration isn't as noticeable during exercises.

Always drink a large glass of water soon after each meal. On average, you must take in at least a gallon of water per day. A number of the other nutrient-rich meals good for bodybuilding comprise of turkey, tuna fish, lean beef, clams, bean soup and wheat bagel. Veggies such as lettuce, tomato, cucumber, asparagus and sprouts can be a part of your eating plan.

Isotonic sports drinks may seem just like a tempting way to obtain liquid, but ignore these beverages and soda, and decide rather for water. Otherwise, those fluids could add unnecessary calories to achieve the same effect of water, with no calories.

Professional Recommendation

You may adhere to this professional suggestion made available for you to help much better with your routines;

Breakfast

A proper breakfast has to be a combination of complex carbs, protein and fiber. Around 8 scrambled egg-whites with olive oil plus a bowl of oatmeal with skimmed milk is a perfect strategy to break the fast. Also consume small amounts of fruits like raspberries and strawberries and also a protein shake. A very good breakfast should be protein rich and have close to 50 grams of proteins, and carbs level must be around seventy to 80 grams.

Right after about 2 hours of breakfast, consume a protein shake and a slice of wheat bread with sliced banana and peanut butter. Low fat yogurt with some banana and cottage cheese can be an substitute choice. The snacks you eat must also have more or less the quantity of proteins and carbohydrates as breakfast. The overall fat consumption must be close to 15-20 grams.

Lunch

A body-builder's lunch must contain quite a lot of protein and carbs. A grilled chicken breast or tuna fish will provide those necessary nutrients in the correct quantities. Include a large salad as well as an occasional diet soda. The lunch need to contain 55 to sixty grams of protein and ninety to one hundred grams of carbohydrates with little fat.

Have a chicken sandwich or even a hamburger and also a protein shake for your evening snack. You can even have fresh steamed vegetables just like spinach or broccoli rather than sandwich. Also consume a protein supplement before you go for the exercise in the fitness center.

Dinner

Finish off the day with steak, chicken white meat or fish fillets. Have a small cup of brown rice with green beans or broccoli. You can alternatively take a baked potato and a large salad with fat free dressing. Finally before you sleep take a glass of milk or a protein shake. This gives you around 40 grams of protein, 80 grams of carbohydrates and 15 grams of fat.

Though you might be arranging your own funeral by choosing to be a wrestler but like the honorable men say; "What is worth doing at all, is worth doing well". You will need a very good body build (a Mesomorphic one to be precise), so just stick to this body-building diet plan and make the best of your passion. Good luck (try not to make it R.I.P)!

Coal company fires 150 after Obama re-election

2 hrs.

At least one chief executive is making good on his pledge to cut jobs following President Barack Obama?s re-election this week.

Robert Murray, the chief executive of Ohio-based coal provider Murray Energy Corp., began laying off a small number of employees this week after Republican challenger Mitt Romney lost his bid for the White House.

The privately-held company, which had about 3,500 employees before the layoffs began, fired more than 150 employees at three locations this week. A spokesman, Gary Broadbent, said the layoffs were ongoing and these were just the latest announcements.

The layoff notices blamed Obama?s ?war on coal? for the job cuts.

There were about 80,000 people employed in coal mining in the U.S.?as of October, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. That?s actually more than when the nation went into recession in December of 2007, but it?s fewer than a year ago.

In general, the economy has slowly been adding jobs, and the unemployment rate has been falling. But some industries have continued to shed jobs even as conditions have improved generally.

Murray outlined his plans to cut jobs following the election in a staff meeting with about 50 employees Wednesday.

The agenda for the meeting, along with the text of Murray?s ?prayer for America,? were provided to NBCNews.com by the company.

In the agenda, he predicted the total destruction of the coal industry by as early as 2030. He said conditions for his business would deteriorate because of more regulation and taxes, weaker economic activity and reduced energy pricing.

In the prayer, Murray wrote, in part:

?The American people have made their choice. They have decided that America must change its course, away from the principals of our Founders. And, away from the idea of individual freedom and individual responsibility. Away from capitalism, economic responsibility, and personal acceptance.?

He concluded by asking God for forgiveness for the layoff decisions.

?Lord, please forgive me and anyone with me in Murray Energy Corporation for the decisions that we are now forced to make to preserve the very existence of any of the enterprises that you have helped us build. We ask for your guidance in this drastic time with the drastic decisions that will be made to have any hope of our survival as an American business enterprise.?

About 100 of the layoffs are at UtahAmerican, the subsidiary? that operates the Crandall Canyon Mine. In 2007, a collapse at that mine killed nine people. Two months ago the company agreed to pay about $1 million in civil penalties as part of a settlement related to failures and violations that led to the collapse.

Broadbent, the Murray Energy spokesman, said in an e-mail that the layoffs announced this week are not related to the disaster and penalties.

?Those are separate issues,? he wrote.

Several companies made headlines before the presidential election Tuesday for insinuating that they would fire workers if Romney was not elected.

Same-Sex Marriage Votes Mark Shift in Nation's Views

On Thursday, opponents of the same-sex marriage referendum on the ballot in Washington state conceded the race, marking a full slate of victories for gay rights on Election Night. Same-sex marriage was legalized by popular vote for the first time in our nation's history in not one, but all three states where it was on the ballot: Maine, Maryland and Washington. In Minnesota, a proposed ban on same-sex marriage that would have defined marriage as between one man and one woman in the state's constitution was defeated.

Tuesday's victories mark more than just a win for the gay rights movement; they represent a larger demographic shift in our country. In an election year where the president made history by publicly announcing his support for same-sex marriage - becoming the first sitting president to do so - the results in Maine, Maryland, Washington and Minnesota appear to be another sign of this increased acceptance.

Get more pure politics at ABCNews.com/Politics and a lighter take on the news at OTUSNews.com

This year, national polling has shown historical highs for same-sex marriage support. An ABC News/Washington Post poll released in May 2012, shortly after President Obama announced his support in an interview with ABC's Robin Roberts, showed 53 percent of Americans believe gay marriage should be legal and 36 percent say they "strongly" support it. Thirty-two percent say they were "strongly opposed." It marks the first time strong sentiment tilted positive in ABC/Washington Post polling on the issue.

Several other polls released in the spring and summer showed a plurality of support for same-sex marriage in the country as well. A CNN/ORC poll released in June showed 54 percent of Americans support the legalization of same-sex marriage. A Gallup poll taken in May showed 50 percent of Americans supporting it, and an NBC/Wall Street Journal poll in May showed that 54 percent of Americans would support legalizing same-sex marriage in their state.

The reason for the increasing acceptance of gay marriage is likely linked to an increased exposure to gay people. The ABC/Washington Post taken in May found that 71 percent of Americans have a family member, friend or acquaintance who is openly gay - a strong majority, and a jump from 58 percent in 1998. The increased exposure can best be seen in the attitudes of young people.

"To young people, being gay is like being left-handed - they don't get what the big deal is," ABC's George Will said on Election Night.

Currently there appears to be a deep partisan divide on the issue, with Republicans generally opposed to legalizing same-sex marriage and Democrats generally in favor. This divide was highlighted in the exit polls from Maine, Maryland and Washington on Tuesday.

In Maine, 81 percent of those who voted in favor of same-sex marriage also voted for President Obama while 69 percent of those who voted "no" went for Romney. In Washington the breakdown was similar: 85 percent of those who voted to approve same-sex marriage voted for Obama, while 74 percent of those who voted to reject the measure voted for Romney. In Maryland 78 percent of the "yes" vote was for Obama, 55 percent of the "no" vote was for Romney.

But if the trend continues - if same-sex marriage support continues to grow and more states continue to legalize it - the Republican party will need to do some soul-searching, so to speak, on the issue. Voters 18 to 29 only made up 19 percent of the voting block in 2012, and for all the talk about how the youth vote propelled Obama in 2008, they only made up 18 percent of voters that year. But if one thing is certain, it's that younger people will grow up, and as that happens, they'll begin to account for a larger share of the voting block - one neither party can afford to lose.

U.S. author Philip Roth says he's done with writing

(Reuters) - Seminal American author Philip Roth, whose novels explored modern Jewish-American life, has told a French magazine that he will write no more books because he has lost his passion for it.

The author of such novels as "American Pastoral", for which he won a Pulitzer Prize, and "Portnoy's Complaint" slipped his retirement announcement into an interview last month with French magazine Les Inrocks.

On Friday, Houghton Mifflin confirmed his decision. "He told me it was true," said Lori Glazer, executive director of publicity at the publisher.

Roth, 79, one of the world's most revered novelists and a frequent contender for the Nobel Prize for Literature, said he had not written for three years.

"To tell you the truth, I'm done," Roth was quoted as telling Les Inrocks. "'Nemesis' will be my last book," he said of his 2010 short novel set against a fictional polio epidemic in Newark, New Jersey, in 1944.

The novella "Goodbye, Columbus" catapulted Roth onto the American literary scene in 1959 with its satirical depiction of class and religion in American life. Published along with five other short stories, it won the National Book Award in 1960. He again received that award in 1995 for "Sabbath's Theater."

Roth, who has written some 25 novels, told Les Inrocks that he had always found writing difficult and that he wanted nothing more to do with reading, writing or talking about books.

He said that when he was 74, he started re-reading his favorite novels by authors Ernest Hemingway, Ivan Turgenev, Fyodor Dostoyevsky and others, and then re-read his own novels.

"I wanted to see whether I had wasted my time writing," he explained. "After that, I decided that I was done with fiction. I no longer want to read, to write, I don't even want to talk about it anymore," he was quoted as saying.

"I have dedicated my life to the novel: I studied, I taught, I wrote, I read - to the exclusion of almost everything else. Enough is enough! I no longer feel this fanaticism to write that I have experienced all my life. The idea of trying to write again is impossible," Roth told the magazine.

Roth's four most recent novels, "Everyman," "Indignation," "The Humbling" and "Nemesis", have been short works, often focusing on ageing, physical decline, depression and death.

New Jersey-born Roth is best known for his semi-autobiographical and unreliable alter-ego Nathan Zuckerman, who appeared in nine of his novels.

Roth told Les Inrocks that he had spent most of his time in recent years preparing material for his biographer, Blake Bailey. "If I had a choice, I would prefer that there is no biography written about me, but there will be biographies after my death so (I wanted) to be sure that one of them is correct," Roth was quoted as saying.

Roth said he had asked his literary executors and his agent to destroy his personal archives after his death once Bailey has finished the biography. "I don't want my personal papers hanging around everywhere," he said.

Outdoor recreation clubs premiere climbing film ? The North Wind

To maintain the summer and fall climbing excitement, the South Superior Climbing Club (SSCC) will be partnering with organizations from all over the Midwest for Sender Films? Reel Rock Film Tour movie premiere.

The event will take place from 6 to 10 p.m on Friday, Nov. 9 in Jamrich 102.

The premiere is one of only two in Michigan, and organizations like the American Alpine Club and the NMU Outdoor Recreation Center will be participating and raising money for climbing efforts in the area.

?The guys from Reel Rock film professional climbers around the world on a lot of diverse routes and in different events that are going on in the climbing world,? said South Superior Climbing Club president Neil Poglese. ?The movie doesn?t actually release on DVD until January.?

Steve Goulding, senior earth science secondary education major, climbs across a wall in Jasper, Arkansas for the South Superior Climbing Club during spring break 2012.

The premiere will be the first of a handful of climbing events on the starting on Friday, Nov. 9, as the ORC will be holding a Midnight Madness climbing event following the premiere from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m.

The following morning and afternoon will be the Michigan Tech Climbing Competition, which brings in student climbers from all over the Upper Peninsula.

Poglese, who credited NMU student Colton Moore with wanting to bring the Reel Rock Tour to Marquette, said SSCC has teamed up with Moosejaw, Switchback Gear Exchange and Down Wind Sports for prizes that will be raffled off at the event.

?We?re going to be showing the film and we?ll have a booth set up by the American Alpine Club there to help promote safe climbing and the world of alpinism,? Poglese said.

A ticket for the event, which is $8 for students and $10 for non-students, provides a raffle ticket for prizes, and the money raised will go towards local climbing development.

?Marquette is one of the best areas for climbing in the midwest, and it has only recently been expanding with new climbs and new climbing enthusiasts,? said senior psychology major Ashley DuFresne. ?It is great that this is being held at NMU. People that love the outdoors in Michigan are not going to go to Western [Michigan University], they?re going to go to either Michigan Tech or NMU.?

The Reel Rock Movie, which highlights free-soloing in Yosemite, two of the world?s best climbers attempting the hardest route ever climbed. It also features a myriad of other locations, routes and events in the climbing world, and isn?t just for the climbing community.

Poglese said the premiere and fundraising will be a good environment for non-climbers to learn and meet other climbers in the NMU and Marquette area.

?It?s just a good atmosphere for people who have never seen climbing and are interested in it,? Poglese said. ?This will show them what it?s all about and inform them a little bit.?

Poglese said even in the off-season, climbing is a good way for students to embrace the larger community in Marquette, but also a good way to get motivated and stay in shape.

?The reason I see climbing as beneficial is that it gives you a chance to get outside and into the community,? Poglese said. ?It gives you the chance to meet fellow students that have common interests, and it?s a good way to get motivated and set goals, achieve things and also to get a good work out in.?

While the tour started in 2006, the Reel Rock climbing premieres in 2011 showed in 280 locations all over the world and raised over $15,000 for non-profits. On a local level, it comes down to influencing students and community members alike to get outside and find your climbing niche.

?It?s a good opportunity to showcase what?s out there, the different aspects of what climbing can be to certain individuals, that everybody can find their own little niche within it,? Poglese said. ?I thought it would be a good way to present that and get people psyched and amped up about climbing.?

For more information on the premiere, email Poglese at npoglese@nmu.edu.

Improving Your Home? Try Double Glazing | Not About The Buildings

If there is one home improvement that can make a real difference to the look and feel of your home it is double glazing. It comes in a variety of designs and styles and not only looks good, but can also help cut your energy bills as well as improve the comfort of your home.

Read on for a guide to some of the benefits offered by double glazed windows:

Energy saving

Around a quarter of the energy that is generated in the home is lost through its windows and doors. If you want to make your home more comfortable and save on your energy bills it makes sense to replace your windows with something more efficient.

In fact, just upgrading single glazed windows to B-rated energy efficient double glazed windows could save the average homeowner around ?165 a year on fuel bills.

What?s more, fitting double glazing can actually make your home feel more comfortable as they can cut down on draughts and condensation build-up.

Security

One thing that is incredibly important for homeowners is their security, and double glazed windows will help provide additional protection from the outside. Because single glazed windows only have one pain of glass they are quite easy to break into. However, with double glazed units, not only do they come fitted with toughened glass making them harder to break, they also come with a number of excellent security measures. They have hinge bolts fitted as standard so whatever happens the hinge side of the window will be just as secure as the lock side. What?s more, the locks themselves are of the highest standard with anti-snap cylinders and guards to stop thieves. The windows themselves are internally beaded, so you can sleep in peace knowing that you have put these preventative measures in place.

Noise reduction

Everyone wants their home to be a sanctuary where they can shut out the outside world, so the last thing people want is noise coming into their house. However, because double glazed units have a gap of air between the two panes of glass not only does this make them more energy efficient, it can also help reduce the amount of noise entering your home. This means that when you return home, thanks to your new double glazed windows, you can shut out the outside world and spend time in a peaceful environment.

Maintenance free

Another great benefit of double glazed windows is the fact that they are virtually maintenance free. Unlike wooden window frames there is no need to treat them regularly or deal with things like rot. Instead, apart the odd clean now and again your windows will look good-as-new for years to come. This means that you won?t need to spend money replacing your windows every few years or spend cash trying to keep them looking good.

If you are looking for double glazing in Leeds then why not visit Yorkshire?s Premier double glazing company at one of Coral Window?s showrooms in Bradford, Otley, Wakefield or Huddersfield.

On the eve of a momentous environmental debate, a key scientific ...

Just days before the McKibben vs Epstein environmental debate, November 5, at Duke University, a bombshell rocked the environmental community. Read more: "Michael Mann Retracts False Nobel Prize Claims in Humiliating Climbdown."

The Nobel Prize committee declared Penn States Professor, Michael Mann, has falsely claimed to be a recipient of the Nobel Prize; He never received an award from them.? Both he and Penn State ?have been claiming for years, his Nobel status to boost his scientific prestige and credibility.

To Mann, the litigious creator of the climate ?Hockey Stick? graph, this is an extreme blow to any scientific credibility he may have had.? The "hockey stick graph" was used by Al Gore? and others to convince us we were on the verge of climate catastrophe,? One critic stated: ?Michael Mann is another black mark against anyone involved in ?climate science.?
Penn State, still reeling from a sex scandal that threatened its accreditation, suffers another huge blow to its reputation. But the taint of Penn States scandal will ?now waft over the environmental movement, which has used Manns science to further its war against fossil fuels.? This latest scandal throws into question the validity of the science behind the ?climate change? movement.

There is a huge, well funded, well coordinated movement throughout the United States, set on the goal of completely killing our use of fossil energy.? One of the main public spokesman and virulent foes of fossil energy is Bill McKibben.? McKibben recently stated fossil fuel is public enemy #1 and has vowed to destroy our fossil based energy industry, source of 85% of our power.

But the fossil energy industry is not without its defenders and Alex Epstein has stepped up to the plate to defend what he calls ?The foundation of our civilization: abundant and affordable energy.?

?

?When Epstein read an article in Rolling Stone Magazine, ?declaring McKibben?s intent to declare fossil fuels public enemy #1 and his plan to mount a major campaign to make them practically illegal?.Epstein decided to challenge him in a public debate. Epstein said; The war against fossil fuels is societal suicide.?

Epstein is an energy expert and President of the Center for Industrial Progress, a think tank that champions energy growth. ?With scientific facts of its own to bolster its pro energy argument and history as a ?guidepost to the beneficial use of fossil fuels for mankind?Epstein is a formidable spokesman to stand toe to toe with one of the lefts most high profile foes of fossil energy.McKibben is recognized as one of the key people influencing President Obamas decision to delay the building of the Keystone Pipeline.? When he publicly states he wants to make the use of fossil fuels illegal, it is a reflection of an overall strategy to fundamentally transform our society.?

In a Bill McKibben world, our energy would be supplied mainly by windmills and solar. Historically and at present technological levels, these forms of energy could not put a dent in the energy needs of our advanced society.? This means civilization would have to become more primitive and a large segment of our population would revert to manual labor focused on farming.

Alex Epstein totally disagrees with this vision.

?In this debate, I want the public to know the truth about what will benefit their lives and what will harm it. ?My goal is to put a stop on the attack on fossil fuels & reverse this fight. ?I want to create a new generation of energy champions.?

The militancy of the war on fossil energy, brings a huge price tag with it.? Already there are job losses in coal which is under assault.? Gasoline is double the price it was 4 years ago and utility rates will skyrocket as rate payers are forced to pay the subsidies given to "green energy," which McKibben and his allies want to force on society.

Epstein says:? "The last thing true scientifically is, we need to destroy our energy supply. That is the least scientific statement a human could make and is the most suicidal statement a human could make."? ?Bill McKibben and his movement are free to make us an offer in the free market of ideas?. let them convince us.? But they don?t have the right to force us, or give us an order.?

This debate is a rare opportunity for the public to witness the clash of powerful ideas that are being used to re-shape our civilization.? With professor Manns ?loss of stature in the scientific community, the climate change movement has a lot to answer for and we will expect answers November 5.

VSP Added To California Health Exchange, Plans To Add 400 Jobs ...

RANCHO CORDOVA (CBS13) ? Vision Service Plan is staying in Rancho Cordova and says it will expand operations after a state agency voted to rewrite the rules for implementing the affordable health care exchange in California.

The California Health Benefit Exchange board voted unanimously Tuesday to rewrite rules allowing VSP to sell insurance to individuals in California. It had previously said standalone vision care plans such as VSP could sell insurance to businesses but not individuals. That decision had VSP considering its future in the state.

After Tuesday?s ruling, VSP said it would add about 400 jobs to the region. It employs more than 2,000 in the Sacramento area.

Of the 400 new jobs, VSP said about 250 would go to its lens grinding center in Rancho Cordova. The rest would be in support positions.
